IOA 2026 Mentoring Café Call for Mentees

Sign up to become a mentee today!

The Mentoring Committee of the International Ombuds Association invites you to participate as a mentee in this year's Mentoring Café (One-Hour Mentoring Program). The 21st IOA Annual Conference will be held virtually on 13-15 April 2026.

The IOA Mentoring Café will be a virtual event to be held at a mutually agreeable time, either just before or just after the IOA Annual Conference. We are seeking those IOA members who will be attending the Annual Conference who feel they would benefit from mentorship regarding their ombuds career development. Early-career IOA members can serve as both mentees and mentors (to students and post-docs). The call for mentors is currently closed.

The Mentoring Café connects trainees and early-career ombuds with established IOA members for advice on career and professional development within the ombuds field. Paired mentees and mentors will arrange a one-hour meeting at their convenience, either just before or just after the IOA Annual Conference. Topics for discussion may include career pathways, cases, IOA involvement, and more. This program aims to foster networking and potentially long-term collegial relationships.

If you would like to participate as a mentee, please fill out the brief survey by Sunday, 1 March 2026. To facilitate the matching process, you will be asked to review a list of IOA mentors who have volunteered for this program. You will be matched to a mentor based on your preference and your interests. We cannot guarantee that you will be matched with one of your top five preferences, but we hope that you will benefit from your assigned mentor. In advance, thank you for your participation!
